Lights, Camera, Action!  This Edison Touch Lamp takes us back to the days when Netflix did not exist and going to the movies was an event.  John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe were just a few of the stars that made us rush to the box office.  The touch point to activate this lamp is an authentic 1950s "Universal Minute 16" video camera.  The natural patina on the camera adds to the "old time" feel of the piece.  By simply touching the video camera, the user can turn on, adjusts the intensity, and turn off the light.  The foundation of this beautiful piece is a sold piece of eucalyptus hardwood that has slide frames for the owner to place pictures of relatives or their favorite movie stars.   The owner of this one of a kind lamp will have the light, the camera, and only needs to provide the action for an enjoyable evening.  

DETAILS:
The wood: The eucalyptus, rare to Orlando, was recovered from a downed tree (after one of our many storms) by a local mill who specializes in rescuing old wood (both natural and structural).  As an extremely brittle wood, the eucalyptus took some special coaxing (and hours of labor) to bring it to its current brilliance (if we do say so ourselves).

The camera:  The camera, a 16mm,  was first manufactured by the Universal Camera Corp. in 1949 and was among the first combination still/movie cameras of its time. Because of its diminutive size, it's commonly referred to as a "spy camera" - if you ask, we won't kill you, but we'll definitely deny EVERY word!  Incidentally, the empty space inside the camera now provides a sneaky little hiding place to stash all kinds of tiny treasures but we promise we won't tell!

The frames: We searched high and low for frames to compliment our little camera and finally came up with these little vintage gems!  The metal photo slide frames circa 1960's perfectly fit the photographic/cinematic theme of this little lamp.  Just trim your favorite shots and "slide" them in!  OR keep our relatives' smiling faces for your viewing pleasure - WE love them, you should too! :)

The components: The lamp's impeccable vintage details are completed with a twisted, fabric-wrapped electrical cord, an extra large 5" diameter Edison bulb, vintage ceramic socket, and a reproduction antique-style plug to complete the charming vintage look.
